Angus Champions Selected at 2017 Minnesota State Fair
Angus entries competed for top honors at the 2017 Minnesota State Fair Angus Show, September 2 in Minneapolis, Minn. Cassie Johnson, Cushing, Iowa, evaluated the 147 entries, which included 113 females, 27 bulls and seven cow-calf pairs.
Mindemann Rock Candy 604 claimed grand champion bull honors. Andy & Leah Mindemann, Watertown, Wis., own the March 2016 son of Plainview Lutton E102. He first claimed junior champion.
Kramers Upper Class was named reserve grand champion bull. Kramer Farms, Worthington, Minn., owns the May 2015 son of Dameron First Class that earlier won senior champion.
PVF Missie 6311 captured grand champion female and senior calf champion for Korey Moser, Larchwood, Iowa. She’s an October 2016 daughter of PVF Surveillance 4129.
David Hassing, Wells, Minn., claimed reserve grand champion female. Jensen Erica 699 of FAF is an April 2016 daughter of Dameron First Class and first won junior champion.
Adam Bierstedt, Pipestone, Minn., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Dandy Acres Pride 401 is a January 2014 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. A January 2017 heifer calf sired by S A V Priority 7283 is at side.
Koleton Lorentz, Woodville, Wis., claimed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. WP Sophia 564 is a May 2015 daughter of VA First Round. An April 2017 bull calf sired by S&R Roundtable J328 completes the winning pair.
