Winners chosen at Pennsylvania Angus Breeders’ Junior Show
Pennsylvania junior Angus members led 108 entries at the 2021 Pennsylvania Angus Breeders’ Junior Show, on July 1-2 in Huntingdon, Pa. Chris Mackey, Greeneville, Tenn., evaluated the 14 bulls, 38 owned females, 30 bred-and-owned females, six cow-calf pairs and 20 steers before naming the champions.
Beaver Creek RIP 033 claimed the grand champion bull title. Kolton Grim, Thomasville, Pa., owns the September 2020 son of PVF Blacklist 7077.
B & R Commander was named reserve grand champion bull. David Bell, Nottingham, Pa., owns the February 2020 son of Silveiras Style 9303.
SCC Phyllis 011 won grand champion owned female. Victoria Meyer, Centre Hall, Pa., led the January 2020 daughter of BCII Wrigley 0516 that first claimed junior champion honors.
SCC SFC Phyllis 018 won the reserve grand champion owned female title after being selected as reserve junior champion. Madison Weaver, Ephrata, Pa., owns the January 2020 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303.
Beaver Creek Scaara 038 was named the grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. Samuel Parr, East Berlin, Pa., owns the February 2020 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153.
Michael Butz, Reinholds, Pa., claimed reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female honors with Mitchell MB Arkpride 2030. The April 2020 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 first won the reserve junior champion title.
David Bell showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Cherry Knoll Elsa 1611 is a January 2016 daughter of S A V Brillance 8077. A March 2021 bull calf sired by B & R Hammer completes the winning pair.
Gabrielle Jacobs, Airville, Pa., exhibited the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Cherry Knoll Elisha 1922 is an April 2019 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. Her calf is a February 2021 daughter sired by Colburn Primo 5153.
Alayna Zeigler, East Berlin, Pa., exhibited the grand champion steer. Bishards Primo 26 is an April 2020 son of Beaver Creek Primo 844.
David Bell led B & R Patriot to the bred-and-owned grand champion steer and reserve grand champion steer titles. He is an April 2020 son of Colburn Primo 5153.
Adalyn Heineman, New Freedom, exhibited the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Hains Cupid is a February 2020 son of Colburn Primo 5153.
