Dollars invested in the Angus Foundation provide for a number of young people to attend college, American Angus Association members to grow in their leadership and knowledge of the Angus breed, and researchers to help find solutions for Angus breeders.
Current Projects
Donors’ gifts are making a difference in the Angus Foundation’s ability to service the education, youth and research needs of Angus breeders. Our current initiatives range from residual average daily gain on reproductive growth performance to the genetic evaluation of heat tolerance for growth traits in Angus cattle.
Past Projects
Throughout the history of the Angus Foundation, close to 10 research projects have been funded by the generous donations of Angus breeders and allies. Together with our academic partners, research studies have been completed on branding consumer palatability ratings of strip loin steaks and ground beef, genomic and proteomic markers for Angus bull fertility and enhancing biological efficiency in beef cattle, to name a few.
