Make Plans to Attend
Angus Night on the Mountain II
The
fundraising event to benefit the Angus Foundation and 2013 National Junior
Angus Show will be hosted by Tom and Lois Ames of Spruce Mountain Ranch,
Larkspur, Colo., Jan. 16, 2013.
The
Angus Foundation, 2013 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) host committee and
Spruce Mountain Ranch of Larkspur, Colo., invite you to once again take part in
an evening of fun, all while raising money to benefit the future of the Angus
breed. “Angus Night on the Mountain II,” hosted and underwritten by Tom and
Lois Ames at their beautiful Spruce Mountain Ranch on Jan. 16, 2013, is shaping
up to be another wonderful event Angus enthusiasts will not want to miss!
Spruce
Mountain Ranch, located in Larkspur, is just a short drive south of Denver and
provides a great location to host an event during the National Western Stock
Show (NWSS).
"Lois
and I are extremely excited to be a part of raising funds that will go toward
the future leadership of the Angus breed,” says Tom Ames, Spruce Mountain Ranch
owner. “The future generations of the Angus breed will carry on the torch that
has come this far with outstanding leadership, and providing resources that
will help add to a stronger Foundation is in the best interest of all Angus
breeders."
The
event is free and open to anyone, with transportation provided by Spruce
Mountain Ranch. Buses will pick up attendees at the Denver Marriott City Center
Hotel and NWSS starting at 5:30 p.m., and following the NWSS Angus Bull Sale.
Spruce Mountain Ranch will provide the bus transportation to and from the
ranch; however, the ranch will be open beginning at 3 p.m. for those who would
like to drive out early and see the ranch and cattle before dinner begins at 7
p.m.
Following
dinner, the Angus Foundation will offer at auction a limited number of items to
benefit Angus youth, education and research programs. Packages include trout
fishing by Riverbend Ranch of Idaho Falls, Idaho;
pheasant hunting by Omega Farms, Williamston, Mich.; beach house vacation by Texiera Ranch, Pismo Beach, Calif.; escape to The Ahwahnee in Yosemite National Park by Schnoor
Sisters, Chowchilla, Calif.; vacation to one of two locations in Mexico by Mirapaso Angus, Lewisburg, W.V.; an in vitro fertilization
package by Trans Ova Genetics and Bovance, Sioux
Center, Iowa; 2013 Angus Foundation Golf Tournament Event Sponsorship; and a
heifer calf offering, Spruce Mountain Estina 2900, to
benefit the 2013 NJAS, provided by Spruce Mountain Ranch. All confirmed package
descriptions can be found online at www.angusfoundation.org.
“Fundraising
events the magnitude of ‘Angus Night on the Mountain II’ are only possible
because of the generous help from charitable supporters,” says Milford Jenkins,
Angus Foundation president. “The Angus Foundation is very grateful to Tom and
Lois Ames for their completely financially underwriting this fundraiser and
likewise, we’re very appreciative of the Angus breeders and allied industry
interests who have donated experiences and packages for our live auction.”
In
addition to the packages offered at auction to benefit the Angus Foundation’s
education, youth and research programs and the 2013 NJAS, the auction also will
feature an elite 15 lots of Spruce Mountain Ranch’s finest Angus genetics.
"It
is a honor to be a part of ‘Angus Night on the Mountain II’ and to provide a
venue of Angus cattle, fellowship and support the Angus Foundation,” says Mitch
Rohr, Spruce Mountain Ranch general manager. “I feel it is a responsibility of
the Angus membership to be the continued leaders of tomorrow. With
events like this we can assure ourselves that the next generation of leaders
will have the tools to lead our breed to another level of progress."
Assisting
the Angus Foundation in event management is Larry Cotton and his team at Cotton
& Associates.
“‘Angus Night
on the Mountain II’ will be a fun and enjoyable event that serves a wonderful
cause,” Cotton says. “Tom and Lois are great hosts and have an
outstanding, progressive Angus program at Spruce Mountain.”
The
event will conclude with socializing and entertainment provided by Spruce
Mountain Ranch. Those who wish to attend the event can look for signs at the
NWSS that will detail bus information.
The Angus Foundation was established in 1980 as a
