Auxiliary
Elects Officers, Conducts Annual Meeting
Members of the American Angus
Auxiliary elected officers and conducted the organization’s annual meeting,
Saturday, Nov. 14, during Angus events in conjunction with the 2009 North
American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE), in Louisville, Ky.
Auxiliary
members chose the 2009-2010 officer team, including: Kathi Creamer, Montrose,
Colo., president; Barbara Ettredge, Pilot Point, Texas, president-elect; Anne
Lampe, Scott City, Kan., secretary-treasurer; and Michelle Rieff, Bentonville,
Ark., advisor.
During
the meeting, members heard committee reports; revised Auxiliary bylaws to
clarify election processes for regional directors; and adopted a revised
scholarship application.
The
revised 2010 scholarship application features several changes meant to provide
a simplified format. Applications, which will be available at www.angusauxiliary.com in the coming

Revised

beginning early 2010.
In
addition, the Auxiliary recognized retiring committee chairwomen Linda Brost,
Finance Committee; Mary McCurry, Miss American Angus Committee; and Sandra
McCurry, Program and Hospitality Committee.
Members
also welcomed the newest Auxiliary officer, Secretary-treasuer Anne Lampe of
Scott City, Kan., who has served as co-chair of the Auxiliary Beef
Education/Cook-Off Committee since 2005 as well as other Auxiliary committees.
The
Auxiliary’s six regional directors include: Mary K. Vejraska, Omak, Wash.;
Annie Viator, Franklin, Texas; Lynne Hinrichsen, Westmoreland, Kan.; Martha
Holshouser, Gold Hill, N.C.; Leslie Mindemann, Sullivan, Wis.; and Cortney
Hill-Dukehart, Sykesville, Md.
The
American Angus Auxiliary consists of individuals interested in the welfare of
the Angus breed. Its members work to
provide educational activities for junior Angus members, such as scholarship
programs, awards and competitions. For
