Angus Foundation's 13th Annual Golf Tournament Scheduled for July 7

The annual fundraiser benefits the Angus Foundation’s youth, education and research programs.

Angus breeders and enthusiasts will want to mark Sunday, July 7, 2013, on their calendars for the 13th Annual Angus Foundation Golf Tournament, which will be hosted at the Shiloh Springs Golf Club in Platte City, Mo., just a short drive north of Kansas City. The golf tournament will take place in conjunction with the 2013 National Junior Angus Show.

The Angus Foundation is currently seeking players and sponsors for the tournament. All tournament proceeds will benefit the Angus Foundation’s youth, education and research programs. Angus Foundation President Milford Jenkins says the organization aims to raise $25,000 from the tournament.

“We welcome Angus breeders, youth, as well as our industry friends, to join us by participating in this always fun fundraising activity as a player or as a sponsor,” says Milford Jenkins, Angus Foundation president. “This outright cash support as a player or as a sponsor will help advance funding levels for education, youth and research programs, which we all benefit from as members and friends of the American Angus Association®.”

The 2013 event sponsor is Turner Meadow Ranch, Wills Point, Texas. Mark and Cindy Ahearn of Turner Meadow Ranch purchased the event sponsorship at the Angus Foundation fundraising event, “Angus Night on the Mountain II,” hosted at Spruce Mountain Ranch, Larkspur, Colo., in January.

There are eight additional sponsorship levels for individuals, farms and ranches to consider. Each sponsorship level contains various promotional opportunities for the sponsor, which include but are not limited to recognition in the tournament program, post-event news release, Angus Journal® and the Angus Foundation’s website, annual report and newsletter. These sponsor levels include: luncheon, beverage/player cart, club house, hole-in-one, gift, tee box, hole and flag. Sponsorship deadline is May 31.

If you are interested in joining other Angus friends as a player in the tournament, player registration is open until June 24. Adult golfer registration is $100 per player, and National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) member registration is $75 per player. After the June 24 deadline, a $10 late fee per player will apply to the rates.
