American Angus Association® members
gather in Denver, Colo., this week for annual Angus events in conjunction with
the 2013 National Western Stock Show (NWSS). The
festivities begin Wednesday, Jan. 16, and continue through Saturday, Jan. 19.
Using the resources described below, those at the meeting – or at home – can

The Super-Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus
Bull Show will kick-off Angus NWSS activities at 8 a.m. today in the Stadium
Arena. Doug Parrett, Urbana, Ill., will evaluate the ROV entries.
The National Western Angus Bull Sale Show
follows at noon in the Stadium Arena. The sale features 40 Angus bulls from 16
states, and includes coming yearlings and 2-year-olds. A panel of three judges
will evaluate the bulls using a composite system to establish a sale order.
Judges are Jake Scott, Gordon, Neb.; Bill Davis, Sidney, Mont.; and Dan Shike, Champaign, Ill.
Following the bull show, the 2013 Angus
Foundation Heifer Package will sell at 3:30 p.m. in the Beef Palace Auction Arena
at the Stock Show Complex. Immediately after, the National Western Angus Bull
Sale will begin — at approximately 4 p.m.
Eddie
Burks, Park City, Ky., will serve as auctioneer during the sale, which is
managed by the American Angus Association.
On Thursday, Jan. 17, Angus activities begin at
8 a.m. with the Junior Angus Heifer Show in the Stadium Arena. Paul Hill,
Bidwell, Ohio, will judge the junior show.
The ROV
show resumes Friday, Jan. 18, with the female show set
to begin at 8 a.m. Parrett will again judge the show.
Angus activities conclude Saturday, Jan. 19,
with the pen and carload show in the Yards. The event begins at 8 a.m. in the
Livestock Center Auction Arena. Rob Thomas, Baker City, Ore.; Rick Blanchard,
Firebaugh, Calif.; and John Grimes, Hillsboro, Ohio, will serve on the
three-judge panel evaluating the group competitions.
