NJAA Recordbook -- This recordbook is designed to help you compile records of your Angus activities in one handy, easy-to-use format. It will provide a place for recording information needed when applying for the National Junior Recognition Program's Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards, and the American Angus Auxiliary, Angus Foundation and CAB/NJAA scholarships, etc. In addition there is space for personal observation and notes. Outstanding Leadership Award -- The Outstanding Leadership Award is designed to recognize one outstanding National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) member each year. This award is available only to members of the NJAA who are 14 years of age or older as of January 1 of the current year. This prestigious award is based upon the leadership that has been exhibited by the nominee through their Angus and various other activities as presented in their report form. The Outstanding Leadership Award recipient will receive a plaque presented by the NJAA and a check for $500. (See the actual application form for more information.) Bronze and Silver Awards -- The National Junior Recognition Program provides an opportunity for young Angus breeders to become nationally recognized for continued achievement. This program is based on activities over a Junior member's entire career. There are three levels of recognition; Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Bronze and Silver Awards can be earned at any age. The Gold Award, however, will be given only during the last year of eligibility as a junior member. Winners of the various levels receive a specially designed pin, cast in the metal of the respective award (Bronze, Silver, or Gold). Recipients of the National Junior Recognition Program Awards also receive local, regional, and national recognition through media and at Angus functions. Gold Award -- This is the next level of award after achieving the Bronze and Silver awards described above. (See the actual application form for more information.) Advisors of the Year -- In 1980 the idea of recognizing the tremendous contributions of junior Angus association advisors was conceived, and during the National Junior Angus Show of the following year, the Advisor of the Year Award was introduced. To nominate someone for this award click here for the nomination form or contact the Junior Activities Department. Applications are due March 1 of each year. Honorary Angus Foundation -- In 1985 the National Junior Angus Association initiated the Honorary Angus Foundation to recognize and show appreciation to those who have shown extraordinary interest and support for young members of the American Angus Association. In 1985, the NJAA board of directors honored seven Angus breeders as the first inductees of the Honorary Angus Foundation. In subsequent years, a maximum of three inductees will be honored annually. Any member of the American Angus Association is eligible to nominate individuals or organizations for the Honorary Angus Foundation. Application forms for nominations to the Honorary Angus Foundation are available by clicking here (nomination form) or from the Junior Activities Department and are due March 1 of each year.
