Upperman, Jaclyn
is very active in the Pennsylvania Junior Angus Association, and currently serves
as president. She represents the
state as their Angus queen and will be a voting delegate to the annual
meeting of the NJAA. Jaclyn has
entered the NJAA team fitting, judging and quiz bowl
contests at the National Junior Angus Show. She has shown her Angus cattle at numerous
shows on the local, state, regional and national levels. A member since 1998, Jaclyn has
enrolled her cattle in the Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR®). She is the 19-year-old daughter of
Steven and Jane Upperman and attends The Bronze and Silver Awards are the first two levels of the NJAA Recognition Program that began in 1972. Junior Angus breeders must apply for the awards and then meet point requirements in many areas of participation before receiving the honors. Applicants are evaluated in the areas of junior Angus association activities and leadership, participation in showmanship, contests and shows, using performance testing to improve their herd and their progress in producing and merchandising Angus cattle. The NJAA promotes the involvement of young people in raising Angus cattle, while also providing leadership and self-development opportunities for nearly 11,000 members nationwide. ### |
