Angus Bronze & Silver Pins According
to Christopher is the 20-year-old son of Kevin and Debbie Cassady and attends Black Hawk College-East. He is active in the NJAA and the Illinois Junior Angus Association, where he served as president in 2007. Christopher has shown his Angus cattle at numerous shows on the local, state and national levels. In 2006, he was named one of the top 15 finalists in the National Junior Angus Showmanship Competition at the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS). He has participated in the team fitting and quiz bowl contests as well as the All-American Certified Angus Beef® Cook-off at the NJAS. Christopher has attended the Leaders Engaged in Angus Development Conference which is planned and executed by the NJAA board of directors. He has been a member since 1997. The Bronze and Silver Awards are the first two levels of the NJAA Recognition Program that began in 1972. Junior Angus breeders must apply for the awards and then meet point requirements in many areas of participation before receiving the honors. Applicants are evaluated in the areas of junior Angus association activities and leadership, participation in showmanship, contests and shows, using performance testing to improve their herd and their progress in producing and merchandising Angus cattle. The NJAA promotes the involvement of young people in raising Angus cattle, while also providing leadership and self-development opportunities for nearly 11,000 members nationwide. ### |
