Juniors Parade Champions at 2008 Western Regional Junior Angus Show

Junior Angus members traveled to Reno, Nev., to compete in the 2008 Western Regional Junior Angus Show, April 26. Jason Hoffman, McArthur, Calif., evaluated the 77 owned females, 26 bred-and-owned females, 13 bred-and-owned bulls, three steers and one cow-calf pair before selecting champions.

Kirbe Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif., led the grand champion owned female, Sankeys Barbara 718. The March 2007 daughter of Schurrtop MC 2500 first won late spring calf champion.

Exar Blackbird 6902 won reserve grand champion owned female for Sydney Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif. She’s an October 2006 daughter of Exar Lutton 1831, and first topped the senior calf division.

Clinton Laflin, Olsburg, Kan., showed the grand champion bred-and-owned female that earlier won late calf champion. Laflins Pretty Annie 7200 is a July 2007 daughter of Laflins Cutting Edge 2075.

S Sis Blackbird 718 captured reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Kirbe Schnoor showed the May 2007 daughter of BR Midland that first won early junior calf champion.

Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. DAJS Lucy 649 is a November 2004 daughter of P V F New Horizon 001. An October 2007 bull calf sired by DAJS The Matrix 008 is at side.

DAJS Stone Cold 024 received grand champion bred-and-owned bull for Satree. He is an April 2007 son of DAJS The Matrix 008.

Tessa Faulkner, Gooding, Idaho, showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. SSR Trooper 117 is a January 2007 son of Lemmon Newsline C804.

Satree also led the grand champion steer, DAJS Owen 410. He’s a July 2007 son of DAJS All Star M243, and weighed in at 1,108 pounds.

Britney Creamer, Montrose, Colo., showed the reserve grand champion steer. Lazy JB Diesel 77 is a May 2007 son of WK Dakota 5476, and weighed 1,106 pounds.
