Juniors Show Angus Champions at 2005 Western Regional Junior Angus Show

Junior Angus exhibitors led 136 entries at the 2005 Western Regional Junior Angus Show, April 23 in Reno, Nev. Kevin McKinzie, Visalia, Calif., evaluated the 79 owned females, 34 bred-and-owned females, 15 bred-and-owned bulls, five cow-calf pairs and three steers before selecting champions.

MacKenzie Flory, Baldwin City, Kan., led the grand champion owned female. EXG Primrose P054 R3 is a January 2004 daughter of Exar Sudden Impact 1537 and first won junior champion.

Mindi Ferguson, Wheatland, Calif., showed the reserve grand champion owned female. Five Star 2020 Pratisia 4014 is a March 2004 daughter of Bon View New Design 878. She first won reserve junior champion.

Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, led both the grand and reserve grand champion bred-and-owned females. DAJS Missy 210 claimed grand champion honors. She’s an April 2004 daughter of Northern Improvement 4480 GF. DAJS Beulah 110 won reserve grand champion. She’s a March 2004 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C.

Satree also exhibited the grand champion bred-and-owned bull. DAJS The Matrix 008 is a March 2004 son of Champion Hill Edition 2029.

Garrett Blanchard, Mendota, Calif., showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Silveira E161 Precision 4504 is a September 2004 son of Twin Valley Precision E161.

Bridon Curtis, Twin Falls, Idaho, captured grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Salmon Tract Exquisite 346 is an April 2003 daughter of Twin Valley Precision E161. An April 2005 bull calf sired by Salmon Tract Festus G301 is at side.

Garrett Blanchard showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Silveiras Elba 2520 is an August 2002 daughter of Twin Valley Precision E161. A September 2004 heifer calf sired by Tehama Total M811 completes the winning duo.

Katy Satree showed the grand champion steer. DAJS Bart 906 is an April 2004 son of Dajs Drover L111.

Joseph Skinner, Kuna, Idaho, led the reserve grand champion steer. B T Right Time 672P is a March 2004 son of BT Right Time 24J.
