JUNIORS WIN BIG AT THE

2004 SOUTHWEST REGIONAL PREVIEW JUNIOR ANGUS PREVIEW SHOW

Angus juniors led 143 entries at the 2004 Southwest Regional Preview Junior Angus Show, June 19 in Tyler, Texas. Dean Janssen, Peoria, Ill., evaluated the 92 owned females, 19 bred-and-owned females, 15 bred-and-owned bulls, 13 cow-calf pairs, and four steers.

Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, exhibited the grand champion bred-and-owned bull, DAJS The Rock 024. He is an October 2003 son of Northern Improvement 4480 GF and first won bull calf champion.

Reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull was led by Brazos Williams, Lockney, Texas. The winning sire, T Bar N Banjo 0302, is a March 2003 son of Auch Dateline 363 and first won junior champion.

Satree also exhibited the grand champion bred-and-owned female, DAJS Molly N322. She is an April 2003 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C and first won junior champion.

Jordan Davis, Foss, Okla., exhibited the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. JDD Blackcap Brandi 334 is a March 2003 daughter of Dameron P V F Raptor 702 and first won reserve junior champion.

Paige Wallace, Stotts City, Mo., claimed grand champion owned female with her January 2003 female, W C C Frontier Gal 39. She was sired by B/R New Frontier 095 and first won early junior champion.

Emily McCurry, Burrton, Kan., exhibited the reserve grand champion owned female, Marands Miss Wix 2301. She is a January 2003 daughter of Marands Donamere 9845 of JJM and first won reserve early junior champion.

Samuel Wallace, Stotts City, Mo, exhibited grand champion cow-calf pair. Corks Lady 217 and her February 2004 heifer calf are the winning pair. The cow is a March 2002 daughter of Twin Valley Precision E161, and her calf was sired by Summitcrest High Prime 0H29.

Satree exhibited the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Her winning pair is D A J S Lauren K024 and her October 2003 bull calf. The cow is a September 2000 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C, and her calf was sired by Northern Improvement 4480 GF.

Satree’s grand champion steer, DAJS Alfred 902, is a March 2003 son of Northern Improvement 4480 GF.

Samuel Wallace also claimed reserve grand champion steer. DPF New Design 2775 is an April 2003 son of S A V New Design 0610.
