The 2011 - 2012 Roll of Victory (ROV) Show Program.

This program gives attention to the individual show-winning animals themselves (rather than entirely to their sires and dams) with continued recognition to the sires of major award winners. The system also places attention to the winners and sires and dams of winners on an annual, current year basis, rather than on accumulation of points over many years.

The show recognition program will consist of 15 shows:
    6 super point shows,
    9 recognition point shows.
This year's 15 designated shows are as follows:

DISTRIBUTION OF POINTS EARNED:

  1. Points are earned only from the designated shows held within a show season, June 1 - May 31. Points can only be earned at two super point and two regular point shows per animal. Starting with the 2010 ROV Show Season, if an animal competes at more than 2 super point shows, the points from the third and fourth super point shows can be given at a regular point level. An animal may be shown in as many shows as desired.

  2. For show bull and show heifer of the year, points are calculated from class placings, division champion and reserve division champion, and grand and reserve grand points. For division champions of the year, points are calculated from division champion and reserve division champion placings only.

  3. For breeder of the year, points will be allowed from the top two super point shows and top two recognized point shows, per animal, in a show season. An animal may be shown in as many shows as desired. Starting with the 2010 ROV Show Season, if an animal competes at more than 2 super point shows, the points from the third and fourth super point shows can be given at a regular point level. An animal may be shown in as many shows as desired.

  4. Points will be awarded to those animals that place in the individual classes. Points will also be awarded to the following divisional champions and reserves, as well as grand champions and reserve grand champions:

      1. Junior heifer calf Junior bull calf
Senior heifer calf Senior bull calf
        Intermediate female Intermediate bull

  5. Points from the get-of-sire classes will be applied only to the get-of-sire of the year awards and the sire-of-the-year awards (not show bull of the year). Allowable points are limited to two super point shows and the two recognized point shows.

  6. Points will be awarded to entries that place in the cow/calf individual classes and grand and reserve champion. The calf must be the cow’s most recent natural calf and must meet the age requirements as defined in the individual show’s classifications. There will be no division champions. Grand and reserve cow/calf pairs do not show for grand champion female and are ineligible to compete in the get-of-sire, junior get-of-sire and breeder-six-head classes. Cow-calf points will not be accumulated toward sire of the year, dam of the year or breeder of the year.

  7. For sire of the year and dam of the year (natural and E.T.), points will be allowed from all ROV shows in a show season.

  8. To receive credit for points claimed, all show entries must meet the requirements for show eligibility of the American Angus Association and the respective show management.
