Champion & Reserve Champion Carcass Steer

These junior Angus members received top honors in the Carcass Steer Contest at the 2016 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), July 8 in Grand Island, Neb. Alexis Vandeberghe, Cleveland, N.D., center, won grand champion carcass steer. The 1,276 pound steer sired by Connealy Gold 579 graded low prime with a 3.1 yield grade. Callie Eastin, Gretna, Va., right, won reserve grand champion carcass steer. The 1,300 pound steer sired by Connealy Black Granite graded average prime with a 3.2 yield grade. Bred & Owned Champion & Reserve Champion Carcass

These junior Angus members received top honors in the Bred-and-Owned Carcass Steer Contest at the 2016 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), July 8 in Grand Island, Neb. Chase Monte, Mexico, Mo., center, won grand champion bred-and-owned champion carcass steer. The 1,264 pound steer sired by SydGen Black Diamond 2769 graded low prime with a 4.2 yield grade. Emma Eathington, Avon, Ill., right, won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned carcass steer. The 1,332 pound steer sired by Coleman Regis 904 graded high choice with a 3.3 yield grade.
