Juniors Lead Angus
Champions at 2005 MAJAC
Junior
Angus exhibitors led 313 entries at the 2005 Mid-Atlantic Junior Angus
Classic (MAJAC) Show, March 12-13 in Harrisonburg,
Va.
Matt Claeys, West Lafayette, Ind.,
evaluated the 88 owned females, 39 bred-and-owned females, 47 owned steers,
10 bred-and-owned steers and nine bred-and-owned bulls. He also judged the 120 Angus-based
steers.
Dillon
Stertzbach, Louisville, Ohio,
led the grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Echo Dell Titan 4009 is a March 2004
son of P V F New Horizon 001.
Jessica
Willis, Union Bridge, Md.,
showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. MLF Grandview Black Horizon is an
April 2004 son of P V F New Horizon 001.
Dillon
Stertzbach also led the grand champion bred-and-owned female. S C C Royal
Blackbird 435 is a July 2004 daughter of Champion Hill Edition 2029. She first topped the intermediate
division.
Mark
Butler Jr., Jefferson, Md.,
showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Thornbrook Blossom 5104 is a May 2004
daughter of Northern Improvement 4480 GF. She first won the reserve intermediate
division.
Jessica
Willis captured grand champion owned female with LaGrand Pride Lady
3045. The September 2003 daughter
of W C C Special Design L309 first won senior
champion female.
Lacey
Murray, Garrett, Pa.,
showed the reserve grand champion owned female. L S C Rosebud 401 is a May 2004
daughter of Champion Hill Fullback 380.
She earlier won intermediate champion.
In
the owned steer show, Jessica Willis showed the grand champion entry. RSFF Chief 4019 is an April 2004 son of
Champion Hill Edition 2029.
Brittany
Full, Mount Airy, Md.,
led the reserve grand champion owned steer. KNKC Titan is a March 2004 son of Rito 9FB3 of 5H11 Fullback.
Katie
Nolt, New Holland, Pa., led the grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Triple N Pedro is a May 2004 son of
Gambles Hot Rod.
Dustin
Douglas, New Wilmington, Pa., showed the reserve grand champion
