JUNIOR ANGUS EXHIBITORS

 

WIN TOP HONORS AT 2004 MAJAC

 

            Junior Angus exhibitors paraded 188 Angus entries and 123 Angus-based crossbred steers at the 2004 Mid-Atlantic Junior Angus Classic, March 13-14 in Harrisonburg, Va.  Clint Rusk, West Lafayette, Ind., evaluated the 85 owned females, 61 steers, 30 bred-and-owned females, seven bred-and-owned bulls and five bred-and-owned steers before making his champion selections.

Katrina Frey, Quarryville, Pa., led the grand champion bred-and-owned bull.  K J F Delvin I105 M40 is a January 2003 son of Millcreek Premium and first won junior champion bull.

            John Irons, Lewisburg, W.Va., claimed reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors.  Ironsides High Times 314 first won reserve junior champion bull.  He’s an April 2003 son of Leachman Right Time.

            K J F Pride K32-M35 claimed grand champion bred-and-owned female.  Katrina Frey, Quarryville, Pa., led the January 2003 daughter of S A F Connection that first won junior champion.

Sarah Nolt, New Holland, Pa., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female.  Triple N Scaara Louise is a February 2003 daughter of Northern Improvement 4480 GF.  She first won reserve junior champion.

Chelsea Wieben, Leesburg, Va., led the grand champion owned female.  Miss Elite 3233 of Foxcross is an April 2003 daughter of Millcreek Premium.  She first topped the late junior division.

            Richie Thompson, Point Pleasant, W.Va., claimed reserve grand champion owned female.  Champion Hill Peg 3180 is a November 2002 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C.  She first won senior champion female.

            P R 624 520-499 claimed grand champion steer honors.  Curtis Bryant, Monkton, Md., owns the January 2003 son of P R 520 4560-6410 that first won junior champion.

            Heather Willis, Union Bridge, Md., led the reserve grand champion steer H C A Steer 3250.  He is a March 2003 son of S A V 5175 Bando 0702 and first won reserve junior champion steer. 

            Katie Nolt, New Holland, Pa., showed the grand champion bred-and-owned steer.  Triple N Brady is a June 2003 son of Northern Improvement 4480 GF.

Cortney Hill-Dukehart, Sykesville, Md., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer.  SSF 1407 Famous Blackcap 2203 is a February 2003 son of Bon View New Design 1407.
