Sinclair Cattle Company to Donate 2010 Angus Foundation Heifer

The Angus Foundation announced today that Jeff Ward and Duncan Smith, owners of Sinclair Cattle Company, Warfordsburg, Pa., will donate the 2010 Angus Foundation Heifer, set to sell in January 2010 at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo.

Sinclair K Beauty 8R102 E118 is the special heifer chosen to represent the Sinclair program.  A January 2008 daughter of the great RR Rito 707, this outstanding female descends from the legendary N Bar herd on her maternal side.  Expected to calve in late February 2010, this heifer will be displayed at the World Angus Forum in Calgary, AB, Canada, July 13-16, as a representative of the Sinclair breeding program.

“We are honored and humbled by the donation of Sinclair K Beauty from the Sinclair herd.  This is an opportunity for Angus breeders to add proven genetics to their herds, while simultaneously supporting the future of the Angus breed,” Angus Foundation President Milford Jenkins says.  “We are extremely grateful to Sinclair Cattle Company for their generous donation and commend their dedication to supporting education, research and the next generation of Angus breeders through the Angus Foundation.”

The sale of the Angus Foundation Heifer Package, an annual fundraising tradition initiated in 1980, supports the Angus Foundation, the not-for-profit affiliate of the American Angus Association® that funds and supports programs involving education, youth and research in the Angus breed and agricultural industry.

“We are honored for the opportunity to offer this outstanding daughter of RR Rito 707 as the 2010 Angus Foundation Heifer Package,” says Jeff Ward, Sinclair Cattle Company.  “We selected this impressive young female for the honor because she represents the finest of the herd-sire-producing Kinochtry Beauty family, backed by a rich heritage of N Bar breeding.  Her pedigree is stacked with Angus genetics that have withstood the test of time including her dam, still in production at 15 years of age, and her sire and maternal grandsire known world-wide as two of the highly-proven Angus sires in the history of the Angus breed.”

The goal of the Sinclair program is to keep the commercial cattle producer’s needs in mind and fulfill them.  With the acquisition of the N Bar Ranch cow herd, Sinclair Cattle Company strives to produce cattle that ensure predictability and profitability in their offspring and to raise those time-tested cattle that will survive the hardest of times.  Sinclair Cattle Company now maintains more than 1,600 Angus breeding females in a breeding program that is dedicated to staying true to the legacy of the original N Bar genetics.
