Angus Champions Named at the National Western Junior Show
Junior Angus members led 171 entries at the 2018 National Western Stock Show’s Junior Angus Show, Thursday, Jan. 12 in Denver, Colo. John Rayfield, Bryan Texas, evaluated the 170 females and one cow-calf pair before selecting champions.
Carter Ward, Plattsburg, Mo., owns the grand champion female. EXAR Princess 6680 is a January 2016 daughter of S&R Roundtable J328 and first won early junior champion.
Olivia Caldwell, Elmwood, Ill., claimed reserve grand champion female. PVF Missie 6228 is a May 2016 daughter of C&C Priority 1428B EXAR and first won intermediate champion.
DAJS AH Empress 308 won grand champion cow-calf pair. Andrew Hodges, Montague, Texas, owns the July 2015 daughter of DAJS After Burn 714. A July 2017 bull calf sired by Colburn Primo 5153 completes the winning pair.
