Juniors Parade Champions at 2018 Atlantic National Regional Preview Show
Young Angus exhibitors from across the country exhibited 209 entries at the 2018 Atlantic National Regional Preview Junior Angus Show, May 25-26 in Timonium, Md. Zach Butler, Milton, Tenn., evaluated the 122 owned females, 41 bred-and-owned females, 16 bred-and-owned bulls, five cow-calf pair and 25 steers before selecting champions.
Mark Alexander, Berryville, Va., claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors with Turning Pt Top Priority 7924. He’s a January 2017 son of SJH Last Impression 903. He first claimed junior champion.
Bryce Hofing, Coatesville, Ind., showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull, Car Don Man in Black. He’s a May 2017 son of Barstow Cash. He first won intermediate champion.
Kathryn Coleman, Modesto, Calif., led the grand champion owned female, Seldom Rest Lucy 6013. The February 2016 daughter of Silveiras S Sis GQ 2353 first won junior champion.
SCC SCH Phyllis 714 won reserve grand champion owned female honors. Gordon Clark, Gretna, Va., owns the January 2017 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303 that first won early spring calf champion.
Tristan Meier, Clinton, Tenn., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female, 3ACES Shadoe 9056. The October 2016 daughter of Gambles Safe Bet first won senior calf champion.
BNWZ Missie 7207 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female honors. Austin Nowatzke, Michigan City, Ind., owns the May 2017 daughter of C&C McKinley 3000 EXAR that first won summer calf champion.
Brody Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., led the grand champion cow-calf pair. Cherry Knoll Lady 1481 is a November 2014 daughter of Dameron First Class. An October 2017 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 completes the winning pair.
Cherry Knoll Lady 1467 won reserve grand champion owned cow-calf pair. Jera Pipkin, Republic, Mo., owns the September 2014 daughter of EXG RS First Rate S903 R3. A January 2018 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 is at side.
MCKY Zeke 7625 ET won grand champion steer. Charlee Jones, Gridley, Ill., owns the March 2017 son of SCC First-N-Goal GAF 114.
Gordon Clark, Gretna, Va., owns the reserve grand champion steer. Buchanan’s Max is an April 2017 son of SJH Last Impression 903.
MC SC Jed won grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Zach McCall, Greenville, Va., owns the February 2017 son of S A V Angus Valley 1867.
Dylan Fessler, Robesonia, Pa., owns the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer champion. HJM Insight 709 is a March 2017 son of PVF Insight 0129.
