Winners Chosen at Missouri Junior Angus Preview Show
Missouri junior Angus members led 145 entries at the 2017 Missouri Junior Angus Preview Show at the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association All-Breeds Show, held on June 10 in Sedalia, Mo. Jim Williams, Wharton, Texas, evaluated the 11 bred-and-owned bulls, 88 owned females, 34 bred-and-owned females, three cow-calf pairs and nine steers before naming the champions.
Champion Hill Brigadier 6879 claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title after first winning intermediate champion. Paige Birk, Jackson, Mo., owns the July 2016 son of PVF Insight 0129.
Broken E Nitro 166 was named reserve grand champion bull. Owned by Brittany Eagleburger, Buffalo, Mo., the May 2016 son of Silveiras Style 9303 first won reserve intermediate champion.
Lucas Crutcher, Fair Grove, Mo., led Wallace Rosa 610 to grand champion owned female. The February 2016 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 first claimed junior champion honors.
Hillard Frontier Gal 606 won the reserve grand champion owned female title after being selected as reserve junior champion. Olivia Gerloff, Bland, Mo., owns the March 2016 daughter of Dameron First Impression.
SydGen II Chloe 5463 was named the grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning senior champion. Chase Monte, Mexico, Mo., owns the September 2015 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B.
Paige Birk claimed reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female honors with Birks Ruby 345. The November 2015 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 first won the reserve senior champion title.
Alexis Borgstadt, Concordia, Mo., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. EXAR Envious Blackbird 5979 is a January 2015 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. A January 2017 bull calf sired by C&C McKinley 3000 EXAR completes the winning pair.
Rance Wheeler, Paris, Mo., exhibited the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Conley SSis Enchantress 5100 is a March 2015 daughter of Bushs Unbelievable423. Her calf is a February 2017 son sired by PVF Insight 0129.
Annaliese Mead, Barnett, Mo., exhibited the grand champion steer. Mead Insight Q514 is a January 2016 son of PVF Insight 0129.
Sean Houston, Savannah, Mo., led JWH Doc Holliday 1605 to the reserve grand champion steer title. He is a March 2016 son of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B.
