Angus Champions Parade at Kentucky State Fair

 

            Angus exhibitors led 100 entries at the 2017 Kentucky State Fair Angus Show, August 25 in Louisville, Ky. Brad McCurry, Sedgwick, Kan., evaluated the 73 females, 20 bulls and seven cow-calf pairs.

            Anne Patton Schubert, Taylorsville, Ky., and Long Angus, Blue Mound, Ill., own the grand champion bull. A P S Admiral is an April 2016 son of HB Guyman 485. He also claimed Kentucky grand champion.

            Ard Ridge Jet Setter 25 won reserve grand champion bull. Ard Ridge Cattle Company, Nancy, Ky., and Will Carnes, Stanford, Ky., own the November 2015 son of Silveiras Style 9303.

            Katie Smith, Cullman, Ala., led the grand champion female. PHF Georgina 683 is a September 2016 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682.

            R&R Evening Tinge 622 claimed reserve grand champion female. Sayde Lowe, Murray, Ky., owns the October 2016 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. She also claimed Kentucky grand champion.

            Karsyn Zenor, Attica, Ind., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Fruhling’s Annie is March 2015 daughter of Fruhling Shadow. An April 2017 daughter of GZ High Streaks 321 is at side.

            Jacob Marksbury, Buffalo, Ky., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Champion Hill Lady 8749 is a December 2014 daughter of S A V Mandan 5664. A March 2017 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 is at side. They also claimed Kentucky reserve grand champion.

            Anne Patton Schubert, Taylorsville, Ky., was also named premier breeder and premier exhibitor.
