Angus Youth Parade Champions at the Iowa Angus Summer Junior Show
Iowa junior Angus members led 154 entries at the 2017 Iowa Angus Summer Junior Show, June 17 in Iowa City, Iowa. Chris Cassady, Ankeny, Iowa, evaluated the 87 owned females, 44 bred-and-owned females, 11 bred-and-owned bulls, two cow-calf pairs and eight registered steers before selecting champions.
PVF Proven Queen 5250 was named supreme champion and grand champion owned female after first winning the senior champion. The September 2015 daughter of C&C McKinley 3000 EXAR is owned by Korey Moser, Larchwood, Iowa.
W A Lucy 640 claimed the reserve grand champion owned female title. Sara Sullivan, Dunlap, Iowa, owns the April 2016 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303 that first won junior champion – division 1.
Grand champion bred-and-owned female honors went to Collison Georgina 1638. Madison Collison, Rockwell City, Iowa, owns the February 2016 female sired by Silveiras Style 9303. She first won junior champion – division 2.
Collison Miss Annie Lu 1621 was selected as reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion – division 1. The April 2016 daughter of Dameron First Class is owned by Abby Collison, Rockwell City, Iowa.
Lexi Knapp, Bloomfield, Iowa, led WBSF Blue Moon 1604 to grand champion bull honors. The March 2016 son of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B first won junior champion.
Younges Apollo 675 claimed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Courtney Younge, Ventura, Iowa, owns the March 2016 bull sired by EXAR Blue Chip 1877B. He first won reserve junior champion.
Katelyn Holmes, Benton, Iowa, exhibited the grand champion owned cow-calf pair. TalonCrest Barbara 506 is an April 2015 daughter of DDA Dameron Northern Light. A February 2017 son of BSF Hot Lotto 1401 completes the winning pair.
Reserve grand champion owned cow-calf pair honors went to Hara’s Burns Dixie Erica 1C. Lexie Moore, South English, Iowa, owns the March 2015 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. Her March 2017 bull calf sired by Burns Impressive 1528 is at side.
Younges Georgina 562 won grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair for Courtney Younge, Ventura, Iowa. She is the April 2015 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. A February 2017 heifer calf sired by Dameron First Impression completes the winning duo.
Tiffany Faust, Strawberry Point, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair. FCC Ruth 096-008 is the March 2015 daughter of S A V Brilliance 8077. An April 2017 heifer calf sired by Bushs Unbelievable423 is at side.
C/C GQ 610 was named grand champion steer. The February 2016 son of Silveiras S Sis GQ 2353 is owned by Garrett Coffland, Blairstown, Iowa.
Taylor Duckett, New Liberty, Iowa, led Laudmere Foundation 6204 to reserve grand champion steer. He is an April 2016 son of Parr Foundation 3P22.
GC Mater 625 won grand champion bred-and-owned steer and is owned by Grady Claussen, Stockton, Iowa. He is the May 2016 son of KLB Lut 3713.
Colton Becker, Atlantic, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer. BRF Ace D7 is the April 2016 son of Greene Pokerface 1304.
