Champions Selected at 2017 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show and American Angus Breeders’ Futurity Junior Show
Junior Angus exhibitors led 336 entries at the 2017 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show and American Angus Breeders’ Futurity Junior Show, June 9-10 in Louisville, Ky. Tom Hawk, Earlville, Ill., evaluated the 200 owned females, 76 bred-and-owned females, 27 bred-and-owned bulls, nine steers, and 24 cow-calf pairs before choosing winners.
Dameron CB First Responder claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors sponsored by Tom McGinnis, Heritage Farms after first claiming junior champion. Jack Dameron, Towanda, Ill., owns the March 2016 son of B F First Transaction.
Mary Oliver, Union City, Tenn., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. OLC 3ACES Inspire 2526 is a February 2016 son of FCF Intuition 345. He first won reserve junior champion.
EXAR Princess 5863 was named grand champion owned female, sponsored by Tom McGinnis, Heritage Farms. Carter Ward, Plattsburg, Mo., owns the September 2015 daughter of BC II Skyfall 2812. She first won senior champion.
Dameron C-5 Cheyenne 1628 earned reserve grand champion owned female honors after first winning late junior champion. Kalie Rumbold, Wyanet, Ill., owns the March 2016 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303.
Anne Dameron, Towanda, Ill., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female, sponsored by Tom McGinnis, Heritage Farms. Dameron Lady Jaye 6153 is a May 2016 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. She first won intermediate champion.
Cherry Knoll May 1572 was named reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning reserve intermediate champion. Bryce Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., owns the July 2016 daughter of S A V Brilliance 8077.
Brody Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., exhibited the grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair, sponsored by Tom McGinnis, Heritage Farms. Cherry Knoll Lady 1481 is a November 2014 daughter of Dameron First Class. Her calf is an October 2016 daughter sired by Connealy Final Product.
Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., showed the reserve grand champion bred-and owned cow-calf pair. AED Rita 328A is a December 2013 daughter of Connealy Final Product. Her calf is a November 2016 heifer sired by SAC Conversation.
Brady Schnelten, Rockbridge, Ill., exhibited the grand champion owned cow-calf pair, sponsored by Tom McGinnis, Heritage Farms. Top Line Lady 5103 is an April 2015 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. Her calf is a February 2017 son sired by Hurlbut OSU Final Exam 513.
Kendall Clark, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., showed the reserve grand champion owned cow-calf pair. Circle R/Big Run Shadoe 9853 is a November 2014 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. Her calf is a December 2016 heifer sired by PVF Insight 0129.
Gordon Clark, Gretna, Va., led the grand champion steer, sponsored by Tom McGinnis, Heritage Farms. Nords Sylist 6080 is a June 2016 son of Cherry Knoll Stylist 1368.
Hailey Jentz, Fennimore, Wis., owns the reserve grand champion steer. LW All-In 622 is a May 2016 son of Gambles All-In 2549.
