Angus Champions Paraded at 2016 Western National Angus Futurity
One hundred and thirty entries were shown at the 2016 Western National Angus Futurity (WNAF) Super Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show, April 3 in Reno, Nev. Tyler Cates, Modoc, Ind., evaluated the 102 females, 27 bulls and one cow-calf pair before selecting champions at the 64th WNAF.
David Smith, Boulder, Colo., exhibited the grand champion female, Champion Hill Georgina 8547. The November 2013 daughter of S A V Angus Valley 1867 first won senior champion.
EXAR Princess 4944 captured reserve grand champion female for Katlyn Tunstill, Fayetteville, Ark. The January 2014 daughter of Dameron First Impression earlier won junior champion.
C&C Blue Ribbon 4010 claimed the grand champion bull title. Express Angus Ranches, Yukon, Okla., and Ryan Callahan, Edmond, Okla., own the January 2014 son of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B that first topped the junior division.
Haley Herzog, Robinson, Texas, owns the reserve grand champion bull that first won late junior calf champion. DAJS HH Bonfire 300 is the March 2015 son of DAJS After Burn 714.
DAJS Lady Empress 537 won grand champion cow-calf pair. Andrew Hodges, Montague, Texas, showed the April 2013 daughter of DAJS Shockwave 612. Her July 2015 heifer calf sired by DAJS After Burn 714 completes the winning pair.
