Texas Juniors Parade Champions at State Show
Angus youth led 164 entries at the 2016 Texas Junior Angus Association State Show, June 11-12 in Belton, Texas. Tim Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., evaluated the 106 owned females, 35 bred-and-owned females, 10 bred-and-owned bulls, 10 cow-calf pairs, and three steers before selecting champions.
DAJS HH Bonfire 300 claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Haley Herzog, Robinson, Texas, owns the March 2015 bull sired by DAJS After Burn 714.
Reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors went to RWDE Big Style C205. Richard DeMoss, Bowie, Texas, owns the March 2015 son of Silveiras Style 9303.
WILKS Blackcap 4117 was named grand champion owned female after capturing the senior champion title. Kaylan Kiser, Proctor, Texas, owns the September 2014 daughter of PVF Insight 0129.
Seldom Rest Sandy 5074 claimed reserve grand champion owned female honors. The May 2015 daughter of Seldom Rest Sandy 5074 is owned by Calli West, Paris, Texas. She first won intermediate champion.
Calli West, Paris, Texas, led CAW Autumn 1001 to the grand champion bred-and-owned female title. The December 2014 daughter of Sankeys Justified 101 first won senior champion.
BA Southern Queen 320C was selected as reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning calf champion. Brooke Adams, Terrell, Texas, owns the December 2015 daughter of JJT Wide Load 305.
Emma Nowotny, New Braunfels, Texas, exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. EXAR Frontier Gal 9114 is a March 2014 daughter of Dameron First Impression. An April 2016 heifer calf sired by BC II Skyfall 2812 complete the winning pair.
DAJS Lola 132 claimed reserve grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Payton Herzog, Robinson, Texas, owns the September 2013 daughter of DAJS All In 828. Her calf is a December 2015 daughter of DAJS After Effect 714.
C C Christians Coal 5162 was named grand champion steer. Presley Sliger, Hamilton, Texas, owns the September 2015 son of H FGR Deep Wells 3168.
William Ledbetter, Sachse, Texas, led the reserve grand champion steer. EBJ Impact Bismarck is an October 2015 daughter of SLL Optimum Impact Y76.
