Angus Champions Named at 2016 State Fair of West Virginia ROV

            Exhibitors led 104 entries at the 2016 State Fair Angus of West Virginia Roll of Victory (ROV) Show, August 16 in Lewisburg, W.Va. Brandon Callis, El Reno, Okla., evaluated the 78 females, 17 bulls and nine cow-calf pairs before selecting champions.

            CCC Womack Ace B505 claimed grand champion and senior champion bull honors. Cheyenne Jones, Campbellsville, Ky.; Morgan Hutchins, Charleston, Ill.; and J.R. Smoot, Campbellsville, Ky., own the October 2014 son of Dameron First Class.

            Horsley Bros., Galva, Ill., and Anne Patton Schubert, Taylorsville, Ky., own the reserve grand champion bull. HB Guyman 485 is a March 2014 son of H C A Mr Lux 06X. He earlier won reserve senior champion.

            Conley Sandy 5104 captured grand champion female for David Smith, Boulder, Colo. The March 2015 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B first won junior champion.

            Alexis Wright, Philippi, W.Va., showed the reserve grand champion female. Cherry Knoll Elsa 1510 is a January 2015 daughter of EXAR Classen 1422B and first won reserve junior champion.

            Champion Hill Georgina 8577 was named grand champion cow-calf pair. Caroline Ashford, Rockfield, Ky., owns the January 2014 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. A May 2016 heifer calf sired by S A V 004 Traveler 4836 completes the winning pair.

            Jake Smith, Cullman, Ala., owns the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. QVS B K Georgina 293 is a February 2013 daughter of S A V Pioneer 7301. A March 2016 heifer calf sired by Connealy Final Product completes the pair.
