Angus Champions Named at 2016 Pennsylvania Farm Show
Angus enthusiasts led 147 entries at the 2016 Pennsylvania Farm Show’s Angus Show, January 11 in Harrisburg, Pa. Chris Mackey, Raleigh, N.C., evaluated the 121 females, 20 bulls and six cow-calf pairs.
AHFF the Gambler 401B was named grand champion bull. Heart Felt Farms, Gettysburg, Pa., and B&K Cattle Co., Mechanicsburg, Pa., own the March 2014 son of Gambles Safe Bet. He earlier won junior champion.
Beaver Creek Angus, Thomasville, Pa., owns the reserve grand champion bull. Beaver Creek Tip-Top 428 is a March 2014 son of EXAR Classen 1422B and first won reserve junior champion.
Emilie Campbell, Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa., owns the grand champion female. KCC Princess 1014 is a March 2014 daughter of S A V First Class 0207 and first won junior champion.
EHF Rosebud B003 claimed reserve grand champion female. Brittany Truax, Hustontown, Pa., owns the March 2014 daughter of Whitestone West Palm A174. She first won reserve junior champion.
Just Enuff Black Magic 314 claimed grand champion cow-calf pair. Just-Enuff Angus, Bethlehem, Pa., and Olivia Brozman, Nazareth, Pa., own the July 2013 daughter of BC Classic 385-7. An October 2015 heifer calf sired by Northern Improvement 4480 GF completes the winning pair.
Fred Frey, Drumore, Pa., and Jade Zimmerman, Reinholds, Pa., own the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Freys KJF ArkPride U41-X112 is a September 2012 daughter of Whitestone Black Arrow Z101. A November 2015 son of Dameron First Impression is at side.
