Angus Youth Parade Champions at the Iowa Summer Junior Angus Show
Iowa junior Angus members led 118 entries at the 2016 Iowa Summer Junior Angus Show, June 17 in Eldora, Iowa. Nate Ruby, Murray, Iowa, evaluated the 76 owned females, 32 bred-and-owned females, three bred-and-owned bulls, three cow-calf pairs and four registered steers before selecting champions.
Lazy H Bar Forever Lady 528 was named supreme champion and grand champion owned female after first winning the junior champion -- division 2. The January 2015 daughter of Dameron First Class is owned by Abby Collison, Rockwell City, Iowa.
BRF Proven Queen C528 claimed the reserve grand champion owned female title. Cassidy Becker, Diaganol, Iowa, owns the May 2015 daughter of PVF Authority 3154 that first won intermediate champion.
Grand champion bred-and-owned female honors went to Jensen Erica 591 of FAF. Cale Jensen, Plainfield, Iowa, owns the September 2015 female sired by Penners-CC Double Black 2257. She first won senior calf champion.
CB Peg 510 was selected as reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. The February 2015 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B is owned by Cassidy Becker, Diagonal, Iowa.
Tim Mardesen, Oxford, Iowa, led TGM Compton 1738 to grand champion bull honors. The October 2015 son of Silveiras Style 9303 first won senior calf champion.
J&K Blue Chip 8177 claimed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Hannah Mitchell, Prescott, Iowa, owns the February 2016 bull sired by EXAR Blue Chip 1877B. He first won junior calf champion.
Katelyn Holmes, Benton, Iowa, exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. HCC Forever Lady 8534 is a February 2014 daughter of PVF Windfall SCC 9005. A January 2016 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 completes the winning pair.
Reserve grand champion cow-calf pair honors went to SAC Lady T35. Jacob Schermer, Clarion, Iowa, owns the April 2014 daughter of Silveiras Conversion 8064. Her February 2016 heifer calf sired by LD Emblazon 999 is at side.
JS Queen Lucy 4858 won grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair for Jerad Shires, Corning, Iowa. She is the March 2014 daughter of KLB Doc 2712. A March 2016 bull calf sired by Sp The Answer 813 completes the winning duo.
J & J Foundation 5131 was named grand champion steer. The April 2015 son of Century Foundation 73 is owned by Anistyn Rash, Union, Iowa.
Nathan Moen, Atlantic, Iowa, led BRF Llyod C12 to reserve grand champion steer. He is an April 2015 son of PVF Insight 0129.
JAF Mr James 540 won grand champion bred-and-owned steer and is owned by Olivia Johnson, Prole, Iowa. He is the February 2015 son of HFS First Class 113.
Roni Kruse, Rudd, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Kruse Century Herby 215 is the March 2015 son of CARD Answer 76Y.
