Champions Selected at All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity Junior Show

            Angus youth led 143 entries at the 2016 All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity Junior Show, June 11 in Louisville, Ky. Travis Pembrook, Fairview Okla., evaluated 89 owned females, 36 bred-and-owned females, 11 bred-and-owned bulls and seven cow-calf pairs before choosing the winners.

            Conley Sandy 5104 was named grand champion owned female. David Smith, Boulder, Colo., owns the March 2015 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B. She first won late junior champion.

            Nalaney Guyer, Robinson, Ill., led the reserve grand champion owned female after winning reserve late junior champion. Colburn Sara’s Dream 5082 is a March 2015 daughter of Dameron First Class. 

            CCC Pride B535 won supreme champion and grand champion bred-and-owned champion female. Cheyenne Jones, Franklinton, La., owns the December 2014 daughter of C&C Priority 1428B EXAR that first won senior champion.

            Logan Boyd, May’s Lick, Ky., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned champion female. Boyd Abigale 5080 is a March 2015 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. She first claimed late junior calf champion.

            Wood Bowtie 500 earned grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors. Justin Wood, Willow Spring, N.C., owns the March 2015 son of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B.

            OLC Gambles Sure Shot 9505 was selected as the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Mary Oliver, Union City, Tenn., owns the October 2015 son of MC Gambles Right Way.

            Jake Smith, Cullman, Ala., owns the grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair. QVS B K Georgina 293 is a February 2013 daughter of S A V Pioneer 7301. A March 2016 heifer calf sired by Connealy Final Product completes the winning pair.

            Champion Hill Georgina 8577 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair. Caroline Cowles, Rockfield, Ky., owns the January 2014 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. A May 2016 heifer calf sired by S A V 004 Traveler 4836 is at side.

            William Harsh, Radnor, Ohio, owns the grand champion cow-calf pair. Dameron C5 Northern Miss1406 is the February 2014 daughter of EXG RS First Rate S903 R3. A March 2016 bull calf sired by S A V Brilliance 8077 completes the winning duo.

            WA Gypsy Rose won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Elizabeth Rone, Courtland, Miss., owns the February 2014 daughter of MCATL By-Product 269-1394. A February 2016 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 completes the winning pair.
