Champions Selected at the Dixie National ROV Show
Angus breeders led 123 entries at the 2016 Dixie National Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show, February 14 in Jackson, Miss. Tom Hawk, Earlville, Ill., evaluated 86 females, 35 bulls, and two cow-calf pair before choosing the winners.
EXAR Frontier Gal 4865 was named grand champion female. Sydney Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif., owns the July 2014 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. She first won intermediate champion.
David Smith, Boulder, Colo., led the reserve grand champion female after winning senior champion. Champion Hill Georgina 8547 is a November 2013 daughter of S A V Angus Valley 1867.
C&C Blue Ribbon 4010 earned grand champion bull honors. Express Angus Ranches, Yukon, Okla., and Ryan Callahan, Edmond, Okla., own the January 2014 son of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B. He first won junior champion.
5T Power Chip 4790 was selected as the reserve grand champion bull. Dennis Thomas, Mabank, Texas, and Conley Cattle, Sulphur, Okla., own the February 2014 son of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B. He first won reserve junior champion.
Andrew Hodges, Montague, Texas, owns the grand champion cow-calf pair. DAJS Lady Empress 537 is an April 2013 daughter of DAJS Shockwave 612. A July 2015 heifer calf sired by DAJS After Burn 714 completed the pair.
Justin Milner and Walker Milner, both of Jackson, Miss., own the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Harvey Miss Hy Spark 049 is a February 2011 daughter of Harveys New Direction 665. An August 2015 bull calf sired by Sedgewood Connection T237 completed the pair.
