Juniors Parade Champions at 2016 Atlantic National Regional Preview Show
Young Angus exhibitors from across the country exhibited 216 entries at the 2016 Atlantic National Regional Preview Junior Angus Show, May 27-28 in Timonium, Md. Shane Bedwell, Holt, Mo., evaluated the 136 owned females, 45 bred-and-owned females, 15 bred-and-owned bulls, one cow-calf pair and 19 steers before selecting champions.
Cheyenne Jones, Franklinton, La., claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors with CCC Womack Ace B505. He’s an October 2014 son of Dameron First Class. He first claimed calf champion.
Cade Stertzbach, Louisville, Ohio, showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull, SCC Tradition of 24. He’s a May 2015 son of Wright SCC Bootlegger 0522. He first won reserve calf champion.
David Smith, Boulder, Colo., led the grand champion owned female, Champion Hill Georgina 8547. The November 2013 daughter of S A V Angus Valley 1867 first won senior champion.
PVF Blackbird 5008 won reserve grand champion owned female honors. Maddy Udell, Sioux City, Iowa, owns the January 2015 daughter of EXG RS First Rate S903 R3 that first won early spring calf champion.
Bryce Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female. Cherry Knoll Erica 1544 is a March 2015 daughter of Plum Creek Paradox 161B. She first won spring calf champion.
CCC Pride B535 captured reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female for Cheyenne Jones. The December 2014 daughter of C&C Priority 1428B EXAR first won spring calf champion.
Morgan Hutchins, Charleston, Ill., led the grand champion cow-calf pair. Destinys Lady M12 is a March 2013 daughter of S A V Avenger of 9969. An April 2016 heifer calf sired by Destiny’s Sound 38 completes the winning pair.
Adam Miller, Gridley, Ill., led PVF Insight 5066 to the grand champion steer title. He’s a February 2015 son of PVF Insight 0129.
Gordon Clark, Gretna, Va., showed the reserve grand champion steer. SCC SCH Mr Buckeye 533 is a March 2015 son of SCC First Choice 326.
BV Boo 35 won grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Daniel Rohrbaugh, Seven Valleys, Pa., owns the March 2015 son of S A V Final Answer 0035.
