Angus Convention Schedule and Giveaways Announced

Attendees have ample learning opportunities and the chance to take home big prizes.

Columbus, Ohio, will host the 2018 National Angus Convention and Trade Show Nov. 3-5. This year’s Angus Convention is special as it will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Certified Angus Beef ® (CAB®). In addition to the many opportunities to network and learn with other cattle producers, there are two giveaways that all attendees are able to enter to win.

The first giveaway features the Priefert Rodeo and Ranch Equipment cattle handling system designed for about 35 head. The corral features a solid sweep with a straight working alley, adjustable to one of four widths, leading to a Priefert Model S04 Squeeze Chute.

In addition to the chute, an attendee will win a Tru-Test complete weight and water management solution valued over $7,000. This package includes the XR5000 digital scale indicator, HD5T load bars designed for manual and hydraulic squeeze chutes, XRS2 electronic identification reader, and the WaterWell 2 automatic waterer. The Tru-Test system is designed to help producers make key management decisions that will ultimately increase efficiencies and profits.

The second giveaway will be a new XUV835M Gator™ Crossover Utility Vehicle donated by John Deere. The Gator has a retail value of more than $16,000 and features a three-person cockpit, power steering, front and rear suspension, and 54-hp gasoline engine. This is the first year for John Deere to be involved with the event. John Deere is a world leader in the manufacturing of agricultural, turf, construction and forestry equipment and is committed to the success of customers whose work is linked to the land.

“The Angus Convention is special to the Angus breed,” said Clint Mefford, American Angus Association director of communications. “Ranging from the Angus University workshops to the tradeshow and three outstanding giveaways, and of course the tour of the CAB headquarters, this is an event all seedstock producers, commercial producers and feeders will want to attend.”

There is still time to register for the 2018 Angus Convention, a culmination of all the best knowledge in the Angus breed and beef industry. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to engage with the others in the Business Breed. Angus Convention registration will remain open until the day of the event.

Single day passes are also available, and attending only the business meeting is free. Special events, such as the Angus Foundation Supporter Recognition Event, American Angus Auxiliary Breakfast, Association Awards Breakfast and National Angus Tour are all ticketed events at additional cost. You can also make your hotel reservations while you register.
