Angus Enthusiasts Tee-Up for the Ninth Annual Golf Tournament

Sunshine and an alligator kept things interesting for the 45 players that took to the greens to support the Angus Foundation. Taking a break from the activities of the show, young and old golfers alike came out to support the Angus Foundation at its 9th Annual Golf Tournament, held at Houston Lake Country Club in Perry, Ga.

“Our 45 players enjoyed this scenic, yet very challenging course today. This year’s golf tournament was another successful fundraiser for the Angus Foundation,” said Angus Foundation President Milford Jenkins. “More than $13,000 was raised toward the Vision of Value: Campaign for Angus national fundraising effort for the Angus breed.”

After the completion of the tournament, the golfers were happy to return to the club house to enjoy a Certified Angus Beef® steak lunch at the award ceremony, compliments of Buckhead Beef of Atlanta, Ga.

The winners of Flight A, representing Georgia, included players Marty Seagraves, Scott Allen , David Williams and Tim Royster. Winners of Flight B, representing Missouri and Michigan included Cameron Ward, Gregory Connell , Jacob Heimsoth and Steve Thelen. Winners of Flight C, representing Colorado and Arkansas included players Jeff Creamer, Britney Creamer, and Kevin Rieff.

“We’re very appreciative of the players and sponsors who help make this event possible for the Angus Foundation and who allow us to advance our education, youth and research activities for the betterment of the entire Angus breed,” Jenkins said, “We invite others to share in this fun activity with us in Denver, Colo. in 2010.”

The Angus Foundation was established in 1980 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization to support Angus education, youth and research.  To learn more about the Angus Foundation and the programs it supports, call the American Angus Association® at 816-383-5100 or go to www.angusfoundation.org.
