Northeast Nebraska is Home to 2013 Nebraska Angus Tour

Norfolk, Neb., is the headquarters of the 2013 Nebraska Angus Tour. The event will kick off at 8 a.m. Sept. 21 at the North East Community College. The college will host breakfast and display cattle at the Charles Pohlman Ag Complex from Jindra Angus, Pohlman Angus Farm, Sonderup Angus and Timperley Cattle.

From Norfolk, the tour group will head to Royal, Neb., to the Central Valley Ag Coop and tour the new agronomy hub facility. Landmark Angus, Brunswick, Neb., will welcome the tour group for the lunch stop, with cattle on display from the Mark Brookhouser family, T-Bone Angus.

Also scheduled is a stop at Bartos Angus, Verdigre, Neb., where tour-goers can learn about Brent and Jemi Frederick’s breeding program. The group will then visit the Chief Standing Bear Memorial Bridge, which joins Nebraska and South Dakota over the Missouri River. The tour concludes near Crofton, Neb., at Foxhoven Angus.  Here, participants receive the chance to view cattle from Leader Angus Farm.

Registration for the daylong event is $40, which includes all meals. Register online at www.nebraskaangus.org, or by calling Suzy Hebbert, Nebraska Angus Association Secretary/Manager, at 308-577-6700.
