Welcome to American Angus Association's Optimal Milk Module.
Finding the optimal level of milk for your cow herd is critically important to the
profitability of your operation.
Milk production is a powerful trait that has a major impact on calf sale weights
and calf crop revenue. However, lactation also requires tremendous amounts of feed
energy. The purpose of this interactive module is to help you identify the
optimal Milk EPDs for your operation. The Angus Optimal Milk Module is designed
for producers who wean their calves at 6 to 8 months of age. Module results may
be less appropriate for those who practice early weaning.
You will need to complete three simple steps by providing accurate information about
your cow-calf production system.
