Longtime Angus Productions Inc. Vice President of Sales Set to Retire

By Allen Moczygemba   |

With appreciation for a job well done, I’m writing to let you know that after 38 years with the American Angus Association, Terry Cotton has announced he will be retiring from his Angus career as of January 2, 2018.

Terry began his career with the Association in 1979. During his nearly four decades with the Association, Terry’s contributions to the Association have been numerous. He spent several years as General Manager and then President of Angus Productions, Inc. He played a key role in the growth and success of the Angus Journal and leveraged the magazine’s success to serve as the foundation for what became Angus Productions, Inc. and Angus Media, today’s media leader in the livestock market with award-winning media properties in print, television, online, social media and customized services. He began his career during the administration of Secretary C.K. Allen and ultimately served under six of the Association’s secretaries and chief executive officers. Most recently, he served in the role of Regional Manager in California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

During the past 38 years, Terry has spent countless hours away from home and traveled a million plus miles promoting the Angus breed, meeting with members and attending registered Angus sales. He came to understand the needs of the membership in a way few ever have, and the flamboyant manner in which he works the sale ring will be one of his enduring legacies.

Upon retirement from the Association in January, Terry will be pursuing new opportunities within the industry. More importantly, at least from the Association’s perspective, Terry will continue to provide as-needed sales support to the Association through the end of May 2018.

Please join me in thanking Terry, and his wife Sarah, for their tireless efforts on behalf of the American Angus Association.
