As the end of 2017 approaches, the National Western Stock Show is just around the corner. The 2017 National Western Bull Sale proved to be an overwhelming success, and the American Angus Association and Angus Foundation are excited to once again offer an exciting line-up of lots in the 2018 sale.

Leading off the sale is the Angus Foundation Heifer Package, Vintage Blackbird 7184. She is a February 2017 female out of Blackbird 8809 and sired by VAR Discovery 2240. Jim Coleman, Vintage Angus Ranch of Modesto, California, is donating the heifer, whose dam needs no introduction. Blackbird 8809 is the dam of multiple industry-leading sires such as Foreman, Generation, Index and Ranger.

Heifer package proceeds support the Angus Foundation’s mission of education, youth and research for the advancement of the Angus breed and beef cattle industry. The package also includes: 30 days of free insurance from American Live Stock Insurance Co., Geneva, Illinois, free transportation to the buyer’s ranch provided by Lathrop Livestock Transportation, Dundee, Illinois, and advanced reproductive technology package from Trans Ova Genetics and its cloning division, ViaGen, Sioux Center, Iowa.

The exciting Angus Foundation Heifer Package will be auctioned off on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at the National Western Stock Show in Denver.
