More than 2,500 guests are expected to attend the largest Angus Convention to date Nov. 4-6 in Fort Worth, Texas. The weekend-long convention offers an industry leading trade show and unmatched beef industry educational seminars. Country recording artist and TV personality, Red Steagall will serve as the Angus Convention emcee.
Exceptional educational opportunities are available each day of the three-day convention. The National Angus Tour kicks off on Friday, Nov. 3 with stops at Hoofstock Genetics, an elite embryo transfer and in-vitro fertilization facility, and Wilks Ranch, where several Texas Angus Association members will have cattle on display. Also on Friday, the Beef Blitz tour, sponsored by the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, will give participants a glimpse at how beef products end up on a grocery store shelf or restaurant table.
The International Genetics Symposium, sponsored by Neogen GeneSeek Operations, will lead off the Angus Convention on Saturday, Nov. 4. The engaging panel discussion, featuring Angus Genetics Inc.® (AGI) staff, will explore how genetic technology progresses at an ever-increasing rate and unveil the new Angus-specific genetic test, Angus GS™. Following the International Genomics Symposium are the hands-on Innovation Workshops, sponsored by Zoetis. The “value discovery” themed workshops offer an exciting opportunity to learn more about using genomic selection tools as part of a comprehensive animal breeding selection strategy at the live cattle demonstration area.
Angus University, sponsored by Merck Animal Health, will cover a variety of topics, from a successful restaurateur’s quality beef perspective to managing consumer demands from the CEO of CattleFax, Randy Blach.
More than 150 vendors will be on site to visit with attendees about their products or services. In addition to the educational events and expansive trade show, the Association will give away a custom-made Cat 289D Compact Track Loader from Caterpillar and a complete cattle handling system from Priefert and Tru-Test at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5 following the judging contest awards.
Registration is available throughout the convention. Day passes are available for $75 at the registration desk. Visit the convention website, angusconvention.com, to access a convention schedule, trade show map and more.
See you in Fort Worth!
